Virtual Machines
Virtual Machines
A key component of the KESC environment is ASRE, which contains dedicated on-premise Virtual Machines (VMs). VMs in ASRE mainly run Windows in a secure environment suitable for restricted data. These servers look and feel like a Windows computer but are accessed remotely (through Remote Desktop).
Additional restrictions are in place, and some common questions are available on the KESC FAQ.
Team members in a project share the VM space and data structures to allow for collaboration, and researchers have multiple secure options to transfer data in and out.
See the Support and Services document for more information on what is included in the cost.
