How to Access AFORCE Open OnDemand Using CILogon

URL : https://aforce-ood.rc.asu.edu

If you currently have an account on Sol, you do not need to register for an account.

If you are a new user, you will first need to select the “register” button on the login page, before proceeding.

After you have registered, you will need to have your account set up on Sol, in order to access the system. Please email rtshelp@asu.edu to get this process started. In the meantime, you can proceed to the next section, but you will be unable to login to Sol until your account has been finalized.

Logging in

The AFORCE Open OnDemand platform is a web-based service that allows for access to the Sol high-performance computing resources. To access this platform, you'll need to navigate to the AFORCE OnDemand website and log in using CILogon.

Prerequisites

  • A CILogon account through your institution

  • A local account on the Sol Supercomputer

Steps

  1. Navigate to AFORCE Open OnDemand: Start by opening your web browser and typing in the URL https://aforce-ood.rc.asu.edu. This is the access point for the AFORCE Open OnDemand platform. Hit enter to navigate to the website.

  2. Initiate CILogon: Once the page loads, you should see an option for 'CILogon'. Click on this button.

  1. Select Your Identity Provider: You will be redirected to the CILogon page. Here, choose your organization from the list of Identity Providers. If your organization isn't listed, select "Don't see your organization?" and follow the instructions to add it.

  2. Log into CILogon: Enter your CILogon account credentials and click 'Log In'. This will verify your identity with CILogon.

  3. Redirect to AFORCE: After successful CILogon authentication, you'll be redirected back to the AFORCE OnDemand login page.

  4. Enter Local Credentials: Now, you will need to login with your local credentials. Enter these in the appropriate fields and click 'Log In'.

The “local credential” is either your account you created by clicking “Register”, if you are coming from outside of ASU, or your ASURITE if you have an ASU account on Sol.

The system maps your CILogon identity to a local user through these local credentials. It's a necessary step to ensure the secure and correct access to resources and data.

  1. Access AFORCE Open OnDemand: If both the CILogon and local login processes are successful, you should now have access to the AFORCE Open OnDemand platform.

You're all set! You can now start using AFORCE Open OnDemand.
