Using Ansys on a remote workstation
The CXFEL Ansys license server is available on campus for use with the Ansys 2022R1 software running on a remote workstation. Since these workstations are remote, you will need to supply the local username, and the the machine hostname to Research Computing in order for the license to work with this system. Another requirement for access, is to either be on the CXFEL network, in Bio-C, or using the Fortinet VPN.
Â
To get started, you will need to install the Ansys 2022 R1 structural, on your local work station. During the install, the system will prompt you for the install location, as well as the license server information. The ports are ok as default, but for the license server itself, you will want to use cxfelansys.rc.asu.edu.
Â
Once the installation is complete, you will be ready to launch Ansys.
