Non-Employee Access to Training - NEW 2025
The Information Security and HIPAA trainings have been moved to Workday, the Human Capital Management system that ASU migrated to in January 2025. To gain access to these trainings, users must have some employment relationship with ASU. This includes non-employee ASU students as well as non-ASU users.
Non-Employee Students
Students should take Workday Learning: Quick Start for Students in Canvas. This will walk them through the process to get access to Workday.
Non-ASU Users
Non-ASU users must become Contingent Workers to gain access to Workday. The Contingent Worker process is developed by each departmental HR separately, so there is no common process to follow. Please contact your HR liaison about the process. We have provided a sample letter to provide your HR liaison when requesting Contingent Worker status.
Sample Letter to Departmental HR Liaison
Dear (Departmental HR liaison),
Knowledge Enterprise informed me that ASU Affiliates who require access to the Knowledge Enterprise Secure Cloud (KESC) environment must be onboarded as Contingent Workers in Workday. This classification is needed to grant access to ASU’s Annual Security Training modules.
The Contingent Worker status enables automated assignment and tracking of the required training modules through Workday, helping me maintain compliance with university security protocols and data protection standards. Without this onboarding step, I will not have access to the necessary training resources and will be restricted from accessing secure systems required for my work.
Best regards,
