Connecting to ASU Supercomputers with the Web Portal

Accessing ASU Research Computing resources has never been easier than with our browser-based interactive web portal. By logging in through the web portal’s single sign-on page for Sol, or Phoenix using your ASURITE login and password, you can manage file systems, create and monitor jobs, view and manage interactive sessions, and so much more!

 

  1. Once logged in you will see the home screen:

  2. There are a few options in the navigation bar to get you started.

    1. Files

      1. This will connect to your home directory and scratch directory. This is a drag and drop screen to move files to and from the supercomputer.

    2. Jobs

      1. Active Jobs: This will show all of the active jobs that are running on the supercomputer.

      2. Job Composer: This lets you create job scripts that can be submitted to the supercomputer.

    3. Interactive Apps:

      1. ASU Research Computing has a variety of interactive apps and graphical user interfaces (GUIs), such as MATLAB, RStudio Server, and Jupyter Notebooks

    4. System:

      1. Sol Shell Access: This will launch an interactive terminal session on one of the supercomputer login nodes.

      2. Available Modules: This is a searchable list of all the available software modules on the Sol supercomputer.

      3. Sol Status: This is the status page of the supercomputer. This status page lists all of the available nodes on the supercomputer and if they are currently free, allocated, or down.

      4. Storage Quotas: Users can use this page to display their current storage quotes.

    5. My Interactive Sessions:

      1. This will show all of the interactive sessions that you have open on the supercomputer.

    6. All Apps:

      1. One single page to have all of the available options all in a single place.
