X11 Forwarding for GUI Applications
X11 forwarding allows you to use GUI based applications by forwarding the display to your local machine. If you are utilizing a graphical application, you will need to utilize one of the solutions below, or a similar solution.

X11 Forwarding on Linux/MacOS
xQuartz is most commonly used on Linux based systems.
You will be able to simply connect via SSH in xQuartz, but it’s important to remember the -X
flag when connecting as this is what enables X11 forwarding.
X11 Forwarding on Windows
MobaXterm is a commonly used Windows solution for X11 forwarding.
You will be able to simply connect via SSH in MobaXterm, but it’s important to remember the -X
flag when connecting as this is what enables X11 forwarding.
